What Samba versions is in that distro? Having spent 99% of my Samba time on Samba 
3, my eyes see a lot of lines missing.

If it is Samba 3 then you might look at the printing section of my KLUG 
presentation, and assuming it is current Samba (oh lets say 3.0.14 or better) then 
ignore the part about SpoolSS and the print dialog delay (so long as your DNS and 
nmbd are all happy).
