WOW! great presentation. i would love to have an open-source one so that i can post it to my 
website, if you do not mind. just tell me what i need and i'll comply.

i actually figured out how to do all of this last night. i already had an ssh server running on my 
home linux box. the step that i needed to know was "vncserver -localhost -geometry 1024x768" bit. 
also, i was confused by first connecting to ssh via putty and then by tightvnc. i got it in the end 
though. i was in the process of writing a quick tutorial but your is much better than mine.

anyway, i am able to connect just fine with tunneling. i do not have a major need for this on a day 
to day basis. i just wanted to learn how to do it. i actually use vnc quite often here at work to 
attach to other pcs on our lan. but ssh alone should suffice for connecting to my home box.
