[KLUG Members] GnuCash Lock Issue

I get this error message when opening my GnuCash file:

      GnuCash could not obtain the lock for [file]. That database may be
in use by another user, in which case 
      you should not open the database.

      What would you like to do?

Clearly not a problem for me, as I'm the only user on this computer. But
it would be nice to know why this happens (no other copies of GnuCash
open) and how to deal with it. Is this a bug? I believe I saved the file
and exited GnuCash properly the last time.
