See if there is a 'disable acceleration' option somewhere in the
configurator.  This often makes crap chipsets behave better.

Yep, none of those look particularly helpful;  although increasing the
reserved video memory could theoretically have some effect,  somewhere
in the X log it should say how much it is detecting.
