Subject: [KLUG Members] SUSE 10.0, VM Ware 5.5, Palm and a digital camera
Thanks Nick, but I'm in the Metro Detroit area. It does not seem to be
as easy as just setting /dev. The palm has a IR and USB interface and
the Kodak has a USB interface. The problem appears to be that the
devices are recognized at the USB bus and then things get really muddy.
The windows apps are vendor supplied programs that are simply not
available elsewhere. In addition I need to access a website that will
not display or function properly with anything but Explorer. I've run
through all the browsers that came with SUSE and several that I
downloaded. What's surprising to me is that one program in particular;
from the German company Testo AG; to analyze combustion gases is not
ported to SUSE?? Hence VM Ware to run that stuff. Everything else I
allready use products that don't rely on windows to email, invoice, word
processing, web, etc.
