Hi All,
A little more information. IBM's whole "configure thinkpad" seems
to be a joke and actually interferes with the suspend option. We found
drivers for printers, scanners etc and it just needs to be tweaked as
far as that goes. Some issues with downloading and installing rpm's,
wheel mouse support, cd/dvd burner access etc. I'm to the point of
thinking about switching distributions but they seem to have the same
problem and I need to stay with a flavor that VM Ware supports so I can
run windows. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Since this is way
beyond me I brought it in to be worked on. I'll try to describe what
I've seen as best I can and forward the responses. Please feel free to
contact me directly.
Trying to connect with the palm through the ir port yields nothing
on either device. The computer says the ir port is enabled and working.
Connecting the palm has slightly better results as it is being seen by
the computer at the usb bus but nothing further. We have been able to
query the palm from the pilot applet and the applet starts running but
that's it. Connecting the camera to the usb ports yields similar
results. Fstop starts but we are unable to download and/or view
anything. The usb ports works for the printer. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
Peter
