[KLUG Members] Group permissions change when a file is modified by non-owner

Hello,
All files permissions have been set with owners and groups
giving each the ability to RW. When a person that has group permission modifies
a file owned by someone else, the permissions for that file change to the
person making the modification. It changes the owner and group to the userid
making the modification.
Ex. Chris is the owner of file test, muni is the group - rwxrwr, tami is a
member of the group muni
When tami goes to Chris' file test and makes modifications per her permission
from the group, once tami saves the file test, the owner and group permissions
switch from chris, muni to tami, tami
How do I prevent the permissions from changing???
