With that in mind, it is not the best idea to assume anything, but rather to 
see what a specific distro has in store, both in terms of compatibility and 
functionality.  I tend to do this will *ALL* platforms on which I am required 
to operate. I am merely sugesting others take a similar approach, and they will
not often be disappointed, nor will their disappointment be so severe or 
bitter.
