[KLUG Members] SendMail (?) issue

This message usually results from the remote dropping the connection
before issuing a command;  I've seen this lots from M$ PocketPC devices
etc... that are trying to do some kind of AUTH and don't get the
response they expect.

Seems terribly unlikely.  IDENT has been dead for ages,  it was stupid
and nearly useless when it was new.

Can you sniff the connection and actually see what the exchange is?
