Yes theres is. You need a ppp dialer if you are using dialup (like kppp built into kinternet if you use KDE Desktop). All ppp dial up connections (except aol and some software dependent client apps) use either PAP (password authentication protocol) or CHAP (challenge handshake authentication protocol). Usually if you call their tech support, they should be able to tell you which protocol they use. Otherwise you can trial and error through it. Try one protocol then the other. Which ever one lets you connect is the proper one. It will require you configure the connection manually (i.e. username, password, access #, etc...). Again, if you need access #'s you should be able to call their tech support to get them. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Subject: [KLUG Members] Connecting Linux to Internet

I am learning to connect my Suse Linux to the
internet. None of the ISP's that I have contacted
offer a Linux connection to dial up the internet.

Is there a way to dial up the internet to use the mail
and browser programs?

Thank you

Don
