Hi Bill-

I would use my "repackaging" skills to arrive at the actual files / registry the program needs to run, instead of a "binary blob" aka installer. Having it thus extracted we could see what technology 
said application appears to rely on... and from there make the Wine/Java or Linux/Java determination.

I am suspecting it is most likely a mixed Java/Win32 app, so I think likely we wind up running it via Wine/Java. I have a package of Java JRE 1.5.0.13 already, so it would be easy to export my package 
of that into the Wine environment.
