[KLUG Advocacy] Frontpage is the spawn of Satan

Yes, FrontPage stinks.

I had the opportunity to share my own experience in designing
and managing web sites (ecommerce, nonprofit, etc etc), when
I taught web design courses for a University near here.

The school tried forcing down my throat to teach them FrontPage.
(In fact that name was encorporated into the course title).
This decision, of course, was made by a group that had never
created, managed or knew anything about web development.

I refused to use FrontPage, and only showed it to them as a
cursory example of what bad development tools are on the market
(and expensive to-boot).

I instead, chose to teach the intro and advanced web courses using
EditPlus and Notepad. The class learned real HTML coding and
how to make pages work efficiently for EVERYONE.

The point to this story is that droves of ignorant baboons are
already 'training' hopeful developers to be brain-dead drones that
churn out line after line of garbage code. These 'developers'
do not care about efficiencies and flocked to work in technology
because of the promise of mega $$$ from their college admissions
advisor.

The ignorance that real standards exist is quite willful as these folks
proudly state 'Well, then Mozilla is broken if it doesn't look right'.

Before www.available.com was in the public realm, I had several
conversations with the developer as I helped him on some coding issues.

When I brought up the fact that some of his scripts did not work
on IE, [and that my webstats showed this to be 11% of visitors]
he expressed that he didn't care about the others and they should
get IE.

Good Answer for the typical egocentric American!
Just as we travel overseas and expect that the other countries' inhabitants
speak English to us, we are arrogantly proclaiming our dominance
and the fact that no one matters but ME.

So for that website, send an email to webmaster and cc to sales
stating that you cannot complete a purchase and have gone elsewhere.
