Of course not.  Because you are probably not doing much of anything
else while it is moving the data.  If you have a Tulip-based NIC
using a whole 10% CPU utilization and a RealTek using 30% CPU
utilization, you can still get the same performance out of both. 
It's not until you start running things in conjunction with those
operations that you realize the issue.
