Every try installing multiple RPMs simultaneously and letting RPM
figure out what is provided by what?

The Ximian Gnome installer/updater is great!  Except when it's
broken!  ;-PPP

I can always drop down to the CLI or RPM GUI and manually install
it.  Linux is a give/take deal versus Windows.  Not always a pretty
GUI, but definately not a pretty GUI that screws everything up. 
I'll take the former any day, even if I have to read the RPM man
page.
