Um, not that I've found. I've found that it's more a function of the
motherboard. My ASUS
P3B-F lets me boot any drive whatsoever. I booted windows 98 and 2k from
the secondary master for a while. Windows didn't care at all. Secondary
master was a CDROM. I'm quite sure my Intel SE440BX-2 lets me boot any
drive, too. My computer at work also doesn't boot the first drive. If
I'm not mistaken, it boots the primary slave. It's
an AMD box with an ASUS motherboard, too. My gigabyte also lets me boot
any drive, too, and I imagine if I decided to switch jumpers, things would
be fine.
