Yes.  But it's still not exactly a "general application" archive.  But
you're probably onto something there.  Maybe Ximian or a Ximian partner
might do this in the future?

Agreed.  AFAIAC, they _are_ the "RPM standard" distro.  Hence why I use
them.

True, true.  But they've also gotta produce different binary RPMs for
