Because I'm an open source weiner, I'd say use PHP. PHP has the coolness
of being PHP, plus it has a lot of other cool things (gd library, blah
blah) that give it equal, if not more power than, ASP. Plus, PHP runs
easily on linux and windows. Which platform is this for? Is this for a
business, or a personal, site? Businesses often require certain
platforms, and it may be advantageous to use what they like/offer rather
than try to convert them to something different (my company has a customer
that simply said, "You'll use IIS, Coldfusion, and Oracle, thank you very
much".)

However, PHP is really easy to use.
