I've never installed from RPM, only from tar file. In fact I just
installed it last week on a 7.3 box. All I do is untar it under the
.../html/ directory, run the config shell program to setup all the
servers and other options, and it works - period.

Did you run the config program? Do you have everything set correct?

I don't remember having to change anything in php.ini or httpd.conf,
but I might be wrong. If you want to send me your squirrel config file,
php,ini & httpd.conf files privately, I can compare them to mine.
