Sorry but I could not even think of trying to talk you out if SuSE
9.0. I have switched to version 8.2 shortly after I was totally
disgusted with RedHat 8. I just loaded SuSE 9 from the download last
night for the first time (it just became available last week) and it
ROCKS!!! Like you said there is sooo much in there, and they do not
bastardize the GUI with something like bluecurve (gack gack).

You can get a download of SuSE but it is just for like network
installs . It is like a 4 or 5 gig download (I am having a senior
moment). There is a boot.iso file to create a boot cd to do the
network install then. It does not have everything in it that the
cd's from the store have. I guess there is some sort of copyright
issue with some of the software that is included in the one but not
in the other (like the demo of main actor).
