The X setup for SuSE is a little more tricky than RH/FD (probably since
it has more options you can configure). It took me a couple tries to
get it working right on my laptop too.

First, make sure you select the correct monitor type. You may have to
do some trial & error to get the right one. For laptops, I usually grab
one of the "1024x768" monitors from the "Laptop" section. I think it's
the one with the lowest refresh rate, but you may have to try more than
one of them.

Then of course set your resolution & colors. Then configure two mice.
One normal PS/2 mouse for the pad, and a 2nd mouse, USB/IMPS-2 for the
external USB wheel mouse.

Once you get everything set, press the "test" button to make sure it
works. Once you save it, immediately go back into the config screen,
run "test" and save it a second time. I think there may be a bug that
the config doesn't always get saved unless you save it twice in a row.
