I am not sure if this will help ......

I am using k3b for my cd burning.  It does not support dvd burning
yet but they are working on it.  There is a fork that is working on
dvd burning that you may want to download and try.  They do mention
on the web site about growisofs as an item that they are planning on
using for the dvd burn.  That may be what you need.
