[KLUG Members] IPcop Proxy Quirk

Greetings!

I was forwarded to this list from the greater lansing linux users group.
=)

I searched through the archives on the site but didn't hit anything that
seems to help me much...

I have an IPcop setup at the library I work at.  I went to setup a small
network for patrons to use their laptops on, so that don't have to enter
our city's proxy settings to use the internet.

I have our proxy address & port enabled on the proxy GUI w/ transparent
enabled.

for the red network i am using a static IP, and our gateway and no DNS
servers entered.

All web pages work *except* web mail applications...hotmail, yahoo, etc.

I have only encountered one other IPcop user who is having the same
exact problem I am, and he lives in Austrailia. =)  So we have been
working together for a while, but he has given up and gone back to
Microsoft Internet Connection Sharing. =(

Does anyone have any input or ideas?  Or am I just doomed?
