Yep, that is "roaming profiles".  Great idea, lousy implementation
(SHOCK!).  You can, and should, control what elements are stored and
cached via policies.

Nope, just file timestamps and CIFS copy operations.  If it used
something like rsync it would probably work a whole lot better.

Yep, a Linux client won't have anything to do with the [profiles] share.
