I would look in your home directory for a file like this
"OpenOffice.org1.1" and then rename it to something like
"OpenOffice.org1.1.old".  Then try opening OO again it will
create a new file of this name when it starts.  I had this
same problem and was never able to figure out what caused
it but this fixed it.
