You cannot rely too heavily on use of language though.  For example, my
grammatical correctness, professional face, amount of proof reading,
etc. is MUCH less for an email on this list than say an email to one of
my co-workers or clients at work.

I would need to assert I am not in a minority on this one too... (I
would never use ellipses at work...)
