Ok, I compiled in the intel8x0 as a module as well as the OSS
compatible. Alsaconf then found the intel8x0 and says it is ready to go.

I changed the KDE system to alsa and loaded up XMMS and changed it's
output to alsa as well. It then gives me an error saying that XMMS
cannot open PCM device. If I change XMMS back to OSS it runs like it is
playing, but no sound comes out. I feel like I am getting close. Am I
missing some other step between alsaconf, setting volumes from the
alsamixergui, and actually getting this to work?

Thanks
Rick
