[KLUG Members] Various issues with IBM T30 and SUSE 10.0

I haven't tried using SuSE with gnome. I don't know if you absolutely need gnome or is that what you prefer? I used SuSE10 using KDE (which it seems that most of the apps installed are geared towards) and it works seamlessly. It even installs the Thinkpad configuration whether you want it or not. If you must use gnome, then I suggest Ubuntu. Less bloat anyway. I have only a 40 gig drive and with all the stuff SuSE (retail) dumped on my system, I was hurting for disk space. Ubuntu 6.06 is a huge stride from when I tried it back during version 4 days. Otherwise, I would try using KDE as your default for SuSE.

Hello Everyone,
I'm tired, frustrated etc. The help I get here is great but I seem
to have a box plagued by ghosts?? CUPS printer problems again??? Scanner
problems, are they related? The mystery number lock key magically starts
when it never has before, now the Gnome control center opens
automatically when I log in. I thought I had things back under control
after my adventure deleting system files but it appears not. I'm once
again way over my head. What to do?
Peter
