HUA!
Get a user to do it...

Opinions about it or the current Compaq family.
Do people lke these, hate 'em, and why?

>Are you shopping for a laptop and just saw a good sale on that model?
My customer spotted a good sale on this model. I am in the market for a
laptop, and he might buy two if I like it for my purposes, which are a
bit different (surprise!) than his.

I'd like to know that too, in general, but that's a different thread.
We need to make an up/down choice on this in the next 24 hours.

Right now, I'm leaning in favor of reccomending it to him, but I'm not
nearly convinced this is a machine I want to buy. I did go to a store
and type on it for a while, and the keyboard, while not perfect, does
npt suck. Thedisplay is readable, and it has a number of nice features,
including reading a lot of memory card formats, a niceform factor and
a readable screen. I would try a live CD distro in it before I decided
to get one for myself.

Nah, I would have said so at first.

>If so what specific problem(s) are you having with Linux on that laptop?
Store staff will probably balk at some dude coming in with his own OS
to try it! :)
