[KLUG Members] Emails and an Apology

To All Members of KLUG,

I offer an apology if I have not responded to any emails sent to me during the last 3 months.  For the last year, many of you know that we were fighting a severe spam infestation.  Bob has done a wonderful job of eliminating that spam going through KLUG's servers. Unfortunately, I still had a couple months worth of spam deluged email to sort through.

Alas, somewhere along the line the email address that I used for KLUG had also been harvested by the spammers.  While I had spend some time trying to attack the problem, I was simply overwhelmed.  The spam even managed to crash Evolution client on my home Linux box.  That is yet to be reinstalled.  I am sending this through a webmail client.

Fixing the problem:
I have attempted to glean true KLUG email from the 16,000 email message (no typo there).  After spending many hours gleaning, I managed to find about 100 or so.  I suspect I deleted many other real messages sent to me.  Sorry, they were lost in the shuffle.  

I will create a new email address for all KLUG mail to be sent to.  That should be done on Sunday.  I will also change my subscriptions then.

Please assume that if you sent me an email during the last 3 months and I didn't respond, that it was lost in the big purge.  If you still need a response, then send it again or, better yet, see me on Tuesday at the KLUG meeting.
