Thanks for the reply Peter, I'd considered the N770/800, but synching is 
really-really a critical concern for me.  Groupwise is in use at work and I 
just don't fancy double-entering everything between my work and personal 
calendars, etc... Meh.

I'll check out the forum and the email archives or the lists you told me 
about, see what kind of "noise" is being made about the ease/difficulty of 
synching.
